INTRODUCTION

Executive and Life Coaching

I coach individuals and groups from the private, non-profit and public sectors, providing guidance and support to those people most deeply committed to improving the lives of others. My approach emphasizes making a personal connection to unconditional human goodness, to our inherent capacity for bravery, compassion, and insight. This connection becomes the basis for developing the skills of authentic leadership and for leading a meaningful and joyous life.

The coaching work emphasizes two essential aspects of genuine leadership: caring for oneself and communicating well with others. Learning how to tune into our intuition and insight, to pick up on the subtle messages that our bodies, hearts and minds tell us, is a critical element for effective decision-making. We each have the wisdom and capacity to be truly perceptive, compassionate, and joyful human beings. We can engage with the challenges confronting us with openness, strength, humor and appreciation. This is possible because, at our most basic human level, there is real sanity and power – the ability to understand and relate directly with the world as it truly is.

Facilitation and Collaborative Learning

I have worked with a broad spectrum of groups, organizations, communities, governments and businesses on leadership development and strategic planning. A powerful collaborative process, such as Appreciative Inquiry or Asset-Based Community Development, can access the collective wisdom and knowledge-base of a group. It encourages all participants to offer their very best - their expertise, insights, energy, resourcefulness and vision.

My approach to facilitation guides and supports participants as they co-create their preferred future. Within a relatively short period,  they can strengthen communication, deepen respect for each other and build sustainable, long-term working relationships and initiatives.
